Welcome to the 4th quarter newsletter for 2006. I am trying out a new format designed specifically to be read on computers. Each story has a lead-in paragraph with a link that will take you to the full story on our web site. This format should be easier to read on a computer as there is no need to flip pages or scroll around a page to read it all. So read on and enjoy.

Sincerely,
Miles Constable - Newsletter Editor

"Protecting something as wide as this planet is still an abstraction for many. Yet I see the day in our own lifetime that reverence for the natural systems - the oceans, the rainforests, the soil , the grasslands, and all other living things - will be so strong that no narrow ideology based upon politics or economics will overcome it".
Jerry Brown, former Governor of California.
